Event: Second International theatre festival at Dhenkanal, Orissa, India, from 4th to 10th December 2009 and also 11th December for sight seeing. The festival is being organized with active
collabaration of district administration( Dhenkanal, Orissa) Assitej India & NIPA.
Objective/Theme: Exchange on
(a) Performance heritage, promotion of theatre for children's human understanding
and exposure of social National/Global Issues
(b) to focus on the use of local narrative/story telling performance styles in theatre for the young
(c) to forge a link between folk and modern theatre practices.
(d) to promote and popularize theatre for the young in india
(e) to contextualise tradition for today through theatre for the young and in the process recover folklores and their rendering styles.
